ELEMENT | PERFORMANCE CRITERIA |
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. |
1. Locate and repair faults | 1.1 Use diagnostic techniques and reference material to isolate faults to equipment or parts of equipment 1.2 Use appropriate test and diagnose equipment methodically and safely, obtaining specialist advice where required 1.3 Consult with relevant personnel to determine the impact of repairs or maintenance on broadcast operations 1.4 Document maintenance requirements following industry and enterprise procedures 1.5 Provide temporary service, if necessary, to meet standards of existing equipment 1.6 Carry out equipment repairs within scope of own job role or organise repair by specialist services following enterprise procedures 1.7 Test performance of system or equipment for satisfactory operation on completion of repairs |
2. Undertake routine maintenance | 2.1 Implement equipment upgrades, as required, and align systems to manufacturer’s standards and specifications 2.2 Carry out routine alignment on broadcast systems, including scheduled replacement of mechanical parts 2.3 Advise relevant personnel if maintenance cannot be completed or faults outside the planned maintenance schedule have been found 2.4 Check interconnection between equipment is compatible and logical 2.5 Implement preventative maintenance routines and carry out repairs and alterations as required 2.6 Check, update and maintain system logbooks and fault reports following enterprise procedures 2.7 Monitor system or equipment faults for trends of intermittent failures in device or component 2.8 Consult with relevant personnel to ensure maintenance and maintenance procedures are met 2.9 Complete work in a safe manner, remove waste and debris from worksite, and remove obsolete equipment following enterprise guidelines and industry standards and regulations |
3. Provide general technical support | 3.1 Assist relevant personnel with facility-related technical queries 3.2 Communicate clearly with clients and other personnel about proper facilities and equipment usage and maintenance |
